Final Thoughts:
The Sox are in deep doo-doo because everything is going wrong at once. Guys are getting banged up left and right and the bullpen is imploding before our eyes. The Sox have been begging for good starts from Drew Pomeranz and Eduardo Rodriguez and they totally wasted them both. That was Rodriguez' best start of the season and it went for naught. Ziegler has been automatic since the Sox traded for him so this was even more frustrating. The season started with so much promise but injuries and ineffectiveness has them in third place and fading fast. Unless the Sox find a way to navigate through the injuries, they're going to be on the outside looking in come October. Sox manager John Farrell pinch running Steven Wright started a trickle effect that the Sox haven't recovered from. Losing 2 of 3 to the Yankees with the retiring A-Rod getting the final rbi is just embarrassing. The loss dropped the Sox to 61-52, 3 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for first place in the AL East. The Sox now welcome in the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three game set beginning tomorrow night. David Price (9-8) takes on Patrick Corbin of Arizona. The game begins at 7:10 PM at Fenway Park.
