Final Thoughts:
After slugging it out with the Minnesota Twins the Sox now get rung up by the Detroit Tigers. Verlander always pitches well against the Sox and Pomeranz couldn't keep pace. Drew pitched well but once again the bullpen couldn't keep the Tigers to just 2 runs. If its not one thing, its another this season. Still, once Koji Uehara and Craig Kimbrel come back, things should get better. The offense will be at a premium against ace pitchers and they walked into one of the best in this one. The Sox need to go on a nice win streak or else they'll fall too far behind the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays. The loss dropped the Sox to 55-42, 2.5 games behind the Orioles for first place in the AL East. The Sox look to rebound tomorrow night against the Tigers when Steven Wright gets the ball for Boston against Mike Pelfrey of Detroit. The game begins at 7:10 Pm at Fenway Park.
