It was grim news today as Chris Sale has been officially declared out for the season by Boston Red Sox general manager Dave Dombrowski. Sale received an injection in his elbow by Dr. James Andrews and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Unless the Red Sox make the playoffs, which now seems in doubt, we pretty much have seen the last of him. Still, the Sox didn't have Sale last year when they made the playoffs but these are much different circumstances.
Bye Bye Sale
On this day in Basebawful history:
1982 -
Eckersley hurt, Sox bullpen blows it against Angels
2017 -
Yanks beat Sox on miscues
2018 -
Rays shutout Sox
Final Thoughts:
Tomorrow night the Sox are back in action against the Philadelphia Phillies. Brian Johnson goes for the Sox against Phillies ace Aaron Nola at 7:10 PM at Fenway Park
