Its been a long time coming as there haven't been a minor league game since September 2019. A lot of prospects missed out on a crucial year of development in 2020 and hopefully things will go back to normal soon. After Chaim Bloom shed a lot of the dead weight and expiring contracts for prospects (and Mookie Betts unfortunately), we're finally going to get to see what they have. Jeter Downs, Connor Wong, Jeisson Rosario, Connor Seabold, Hudson Potts, Jake Wallace, Zack Bryant, "Boss" Christian Koss, Tyreque Reed, Nick Sogard, Frank German, Ronaldo Hernandez and Josh Winckowski will make their organization debuts.
The holdovers Jarren Duran, Triston Casas, Gilberto Jimenez, Tanner Houck, Thaddeus Ward, Jay Groome and Nick Yorke will also fill out the rosters which will make for a very interesting season if nothing else. Bloom had to rebuild the farm system piece by piece and with the Lowell Spinners gone, only the best of the best will remain. Bloom also has the upcoming Number 4 overall pick in the draft coming up so get your tickets now to see these four teams if you're in the different areas.
Also the Red Sox claimed veteran reliever Brandon Brennan off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. Guess they needed someone to fill out the roster in Worcester.
INOn this day in Basebawful history:
1984 - Ojeda, Sox shut down Tigers
2000 - Sox rally past Tigers
2013 - Rangers shut out Sox
Tomorrow night the Sox are home against the struggling Detroit Tigers. Nick Pivetta (3-0, 2.81 ERA) takes on Captain TBD of the Tigers at 7:10 PM at Fenway Park.
