As for the game, for the third straight game the Red Sox and New York Yankees got locked into a low scoring grinder. For the second time in three days the Red Sox emerged victorious. Final Thoughts:
The Sox might be perfectly mediocre but beating the Yankees 2 out of 3 is never a bad thing. Not only that, they out grinded them in two out of the three games because the pitching held up. Bello held tough for 7 innings and the bullpen shut the door after that. The problem with the Sox this season is consistency, they can never string wins together because the rotation or offense has been inconsistent. Not having Trevor Story is a big loss but replacing Nathan Eovaldi with Corey Kluber wasn't a good idea either. Still, they won the games they had to in New York and now they have to beat some bad teams if they want to get back in the division race. The win improved the Sox to 33-33, good for last place in the AL East. The Sox now come home to face the Colorado Rockies and old pal Connor Seabold gets the start for the Rockies. James Paxton gets the ball for the Sox tomorrow night at 7:10 PM at Fenway Park.
