Final Thoughts:

When Martin Perez is arguably your best pitcher, something's WRONG. Still, 5 shutout innings is 5 shutout innings and Perez kept the Rays off the board. Nice of Chavis to bring his bat tonight considering how hard the offense has sucked lately. Verdugo got his first home run and hopefully more are on the way. Kudos to Brewer, Brice, Barnes and Workman to bring the gas tonight compared to their recent stinkers. This season is going nowhere but a win is a win. The win improved the Sox to 4-8 on the season. After an off-day tomorrow the Sox return to action friday night against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. They have no idea who's pitching yet but Ryan Weber (0-2, 11.57 ERA) goes for the Sox at 7:30 PM at Fenway Park.
