Bundy got the ball in the top of the first inning and birthday boy Dustin Pedroia popped up to third to start. Xander Bogaerts hit one up the elevator shaft and Chris Davis made a leaping grab on a David Ortiz lined to end the inning. Price got the ball in the bottom of the first and Adam Jones doubled to right to start. Jonathan Schoop popped up to right, Manny Machado popped up to first and Mark Trumbo grounded out to third to end the inning.
Mr. Mookie Betts grounded out to second to start the top of the second but Jackie Bradley Jr was hit with a pitch. Sandy Leon popped up to short but Brock "The Hitman" Holt singled to right. Travis Shaw ripped a base hit to center to score JBJ to put the Sox on top. Andrew Benintendi walked but Pedroia lined out to a diving Hyun Woo Kim to end the inning with the Sox up 1-0.
The O's fought back in the bottom of the second as Steve Pearce popped up to short to start. Chris Davis hit a home run all the way to North Korea to tie the game. Matt Wieters popped up to first and JJ Hardy grounded out to third to end the inning with the game tied 1-1.

The Sox took command in the top of the third as Bogaerts struck out swinging to start. Ortiz grounded out to short but Mr. Mookie walked. JBJ belted his 20th home run of the season to put the Sox back in front and Leon got a base hit to center. Holt got a base hit to right but Shaw grounded out to third to end the inning with the Sox ahead 3-1.
Jump for joy
Kim grounded out to second to start the bottom of the third and Jones struck out swinging. Schoop flied out to left to end the inning.
Benintendi struck out swinging to start the top of the fourth but Pedroia got a base hit to center. Bogaerts flied out to center and Ortiz grounded out to second to end the inning. Machado took strike three to start the bottom of the fourth and Trumbo flied out to center. Pearce beat out a roller to second but Davis struck out swinging to end the inning.
The Sox put the game on ice in the top of the fifth as Mr. Mookie beat out a roller to third to start. Betts stole second but JBJ flied out to left. Leon belted his sixth home run of the season to increase the lead and Holt doubled to right to chase Bundy. Tyler Wilson came in and Shaw struck out swinging. Benintendi grounded back to the mound to end the inning with the Sox up 5-1.
Wieters flied out to right to start the bottom of the fifth but Pedroia booted a grounder by Hardy for an error. Kim popped up to left and Jones flied out to right to end the inning as the rain began to fall.
The Sox poured it on in the top of the sixth as Pedroia grounded out to third to start. Bogaerts got a base hit to left and Ortiz doubled to center to score Xander. Mr. Mookie got a base hit to right to move Ortiz to third and JBJ drilled a base hit to left. Ortiz and Betts scored but JBJ was caught in a rundown for the second out. Leon struck out swinging to end the inning with the Sox ahead 8-1.
Schoop got a base hit to left to start the bottom of the sixth as the rain started to pick up. Machado struck out swinging, Trumbo flied out to right and Pearce popped up to third to end the inning. That ended up being it for Price as he tossed a complete game 4 hitter allowing just 1 run.
Good work Price
Ubaldo Jimenez was scheduled to come in to pitch the top of the seventh but the game entered a rain delay. With no end in sight, the umpires called it with the game well in hand. The Sox had won it 8-1.
Hero of The Night is Jackie Bradley Jr. He drove in 4 runs by himself to outpace the Orioles including a 2 run home run.
The Good:
Mookie Betts was 2 for 3 with a walk and 3 runs scored.
Sandy Leon was 2 for 4 with a 2 run home run.
Brock Holt was 3 for 3.
Travis Shaw was 1 for 3 with an rbi.
David Price tossed a complete game by allowing just 1 run in 6 innings off 4 hits.

Xander Bogaerts was just 1 for 4 with a strikeout but scored a run.
David Ortiz was just 1 for 4 but drove in a run and scored a run.
Andrew Benintendi was 0 for 2 with a strikeout but walked.
Final Thoughts:
That game couldn't have gone better for the Red Sox. Not only did they crush the Orioles but the rain saved the bullpen for tomorrow with Price getting credit for a complete game. There's no stopping Mookie Betts this month and the onslaught of Pedroia, Leon, Bradley and Ortiz makes this a relentless lineup. Bogaerts is in a slump and Hanley Ramirez is out but when they're firing on all cylinders, look out. Good to see Price take a team that's in first place, chew them up and spit them out as well. With Steven Wright out it'll be up to Rick Porcello and Price to carry them and Price looked good in this one. All in all it was a good win and with only 43 games remaining, the Sox have first place in sight if they choose to take it. The win improved the Sox to 67-52, percentage points behind the Blue Jays for first place in the AL East. The Sox now travel to Detroit for a four game set with the Tigers beginning tomorrow night. Clay Buchholz (4-9, 5.66 ERA) gets the start against Matt Boyd of Detroit. The game begins at 2:10 PM Eastern time at Comerica Park.
