Final Thoughts:
The Sox need to beat up on bad teams and they're doing it so far. Sweeping the Nationals AND The Rockies seems like a tall order even though Colorado is horrible, but its something they have to do if they have any shot of getting back in the AL East race. Especially with the all-star break approaching after the Tampa Bay series. Fitts getting his first win of the season was a nice touch and kudos to the bullpen to lock it down after he left. Also kudos to Anthony for his first Fenway home run. Maybe things are looking up around here. The win improved the Sox to 47-45, 6.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for first place in the AL East. The Sox look to make it two in a row against Colorado and five wins total tomorrow night when Brayan Bello (4-3) takes on Kyle Freeland of Colorado. The game begins at 7:10 PM at Fenway Park.
