Final Thoughts:
What a waste this year has been. Between the bats getting off to a slow start to the entire rotation falling apart to the insane inability to not be able to beat the AL East, its amazing how this franchise went from being two wins away from the World Series to last place. Alex Cora has made some bad managerial decisions for sure but bad roster construction is the real culprit. Trading Hunter Renfroe's 30 home runs for Jackie Bradley Jr was a monumental mistake and not keeping Kyle Schwarber in favor of Bobby Dalbec and Franchy Cordero has crashed and burned as well. Also putting your faith in Rich Hill and Michael Wacha backfired as both missed time due to injury. Now the Sox have to deal with the prospect of Nathan Eovaldi, JD Martinez and Xander Bogaerts leaving at season's end and not having a replacement plan in effect. That's on the general manager. Injuries are unfortunate but its uncanny how every free agent and trade made by Bloom blew up in his face. Even Eric Hosmer and Tommy Pham are gone and most likely not returning. There's still 37 games left to sit through and it'll be like water torture at this point. The loss dropped the Sox to 60-65, good for last place in the AL East. The Sox now welcome in another AL East foe with the Tampa Bay Rays coming to town for a three game set. Tomorrow night Michael Wacha (8-1) looks to be the stopper against JT Chargois of Tampa. The game begins at 7:10 PM at Fenway Park.
