Strider got the ball in the top of the first inning and Jarren Duran walked to start. Mickey Gasper flied out to left, Wilyer Abreu popped up to third and Duran got picked off to end the inning. Early got the ball in the bottom of the first and old farm-hand Mauricio Dubon lined out to center. Drake Baldwin then hit a home run all the way to Battle Creek Michigan to put Atlanta on top. Ozzie Albies was hit with a pitch but Matt Olson struck out swinging. Austin Riley singled to left but Michael Harris popped up to short to end the inning with the Braves ahead 1-0.
Willson Contreras struck out swinging to start the top of the second but Ceddanne Rafaela walked. Marcelo Mayer struck out swinging but Rafaela stole second base. Andruw Monasterio grounded back to the mound to end the inning. The Sox flashed the leather in the bottom of the second as Caleb Durbin robbed Ha-Seong Kim of a hit to start. Old pal Sandy Leon got a base hit to left but Durbin made a great stab off a Jose Azocar grounder to force Sandy at second. Dubon struck out swinging to end the inning.
Carlos Narvaez walked to start the top of the third but Durbin popped up to second. Duran banged into a double play to end the inning. Baldwin swung and missed for strike three to start the bottom of the third...but the ball got away to allow Baldwin to reach first. Albies forced Baldwin at second, Olson flied out to right and Riley struck out swinging to end the inning.
Gasper got a base hit to right to start the top of the fourth but Abreu struck out swinging. Gasper was thrown out at second trying to steal and Contreras grounded out to third to end the inning. The Braves struck again in the bottom of the fourth as Harris hit a home run all the way to Sweden to start. Kim grounded out to second and Leon struck out swinging, but Durbin booted a grounder by Azocar for an error. Dubon grounded out to short to end the inning with the Braves ahead 2-0.
Rafaela hit a ground rule double down the left field line to start the top of the fifth but Mayer popped up to third. Rafaela was thrown out at third trying to steal and Monasterio flied out to left to end the inning. Early returned for one final inning in the bottom of the fifth and Baldwin flied out to center to start. Albies grounded out to third and Olson took strike three to end the inning. Early battled allowing 2 runs in 5 innings off 5 hits while striking out 6.
The Sox got one back in the top of the sixth as Narvaez doubled to left to start. Durbin struck out swinging and Dylan Lee came in to pitch to Duran. Jarren struck out swinging but Gasper got a base hit to left to score Narvaez. Abreu popped up to third to end the inning with the Sox down 2-1.
Greg Weissert came in to pitch the bottom of the sixth and Riley flied out to left to start. Harris also flied out to left and Kim grounded back to the mound to end the inning.
The Sox rallied in the top of the seventh with Tyler Kinley on the mound. Contreras flied out to left to start. Rafaela flied out to right but Mayer crushed his second home run of the year to tie the game. Monasterio hit a ground rule double down the left field line to chase Kinley. Robert Suarez was brought in to face Narvaez and Carlos struck out swinging to end the inning with the game tied 2-2.
Old buddy Dominic Smith pinch hit for Leon to start the bottom of the seventh and grounded out to short to start. Mike Yastrzemski pimch hit for Azocar and Jovani Moran was summoned to face him. Yaz took strike three and Dubon grounded out to third to end the inning.
Masataka Yoshida pinch hit for Durbin to start the top of the eighth and grounded out to second. Duran and Gasper also grounded out to second to end the inning. Isiah Kiner-Falefa took over for Yoshida to start the bottom of the eighth and Baldwin singled to center to start. Albies flied out to left and Olson went down hacking. Riley whiffed to end the inning.
Raisel Iglesias came in to pitch the top of the ninth and Abreu flied out to center to start. Contreras struck out swinging but Rafaela singled to left. Mayer walked but Monasterio went down hacking to end the inning. Aroldis Chapman came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth and Harris struck out swinging to start. Kim grounded out third and Kyle Farmer pinch hit for Iglesias. Farmer struck out swinging to end the inning.
Didier Fuentes came in to pitch the top of the tenth with Monasterio starting at second base. Narvaez struck out swinging but Kiner grounded out to second to move Monasterio to third. Duran was hit with a pitch but Gasper lined out to short to end the inning. Tyler Samaniego came in to pitch the bottom of the tenth with Kim at second base. Yaz wasted no time to getting the double to left to score Kim, winning the game. The Braves walked off the Sox 3-2 in 10 innings.

The Good:

Jovani Moran tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
The Bad:
Wilyer Abreu was 0 for 4 with a strikeout.
Willson Contreras was 0 for 4 with 2 strikeout.
Caleb Durbin was 0 for 2 with a strikeout.
Masataka Yoshida was 0 for 1.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa was 0 for 1.
The Ugly:
Jarren Duran was 0 for 3 with a strikeout but walked and was hit with a pitch.
Andruw Monasterio was just 1 for 4 with a strikeout.
Final Thoughts:
Sox fans want the year over already and we're only halfway through May. The sad part about losing 3 of the last 4 games is they've given up 8 runs combined in those games. Even a mediocre offense would have been enough to win them. Hell they only scored just 1 run against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday and just 2 in their win on May 8th. This is historically bad and it can't possibly go on the whole season right? Trevor Story going down might just sink the ship with Triston Casas and Roman Anthony already gone and Garrett Crochet all but officially needing shoulder surgery. The pitching of the Sox have been amazing, its a true shame the bats don't match. The Sox are a good offense away from 2018 and bad pitching away from the 1962 Mets. That's the slope the Sox are on this season. The less said of this disaster the better. The loss dropped the Sox to 18-26, good for last place in the AL East. The Sox look to bounce back tomorrow when Payton Tolle (1-2) takes on Bryce Elder of the Braves. The game begins at 7:10 PM at Truist Park.
