Final Thoughts:
This year may be a pile of ass but that was a fun win today. The offense fired on all cylinders for the first time since Alex Cora got fired but the real story was Bello. If he's that much of a mental case that he can't pitch the first inning, the flip side is he was almost unhittable coming in after an opener. Yes it was just the Marlins but it was still a hell of an effort by the much maligned Bello. Speaking of which, nice to see Durbin get a couple of hits and Rafaela, Abreu & Contreras to show off their power strokes. Those three have been the only consistent hitters this season so far so unless someone else breaks out of their funk, they're going to have to carry the offense. Today they did against the Tigers. Not much to complain about in this one apart from Duran continuing to stink the joint out. The win improved the Sox to 15-21, good for last place in the AL East. The Sox look to sweep the series tomorrow evening when Sonny Gray (2-1) takes on Jack Flaherty of Detroit. The game begins at 7:40 PM eastern time at Comerica Park.
