Holmes got the ball in the top of the first inning and Jarren Duran got a base hit to center to start. Mickey Gasper struck out swinging and Wilyer Abreu forced Duran at second. Willson Contreras grounded out to second to end the inning. The Braves jumped on Bello out of the gate in the top of the first as Drake Baldwin grounded out to second to start. Ozzie Albies singled to right, Matt Olson walked and Michael Harris beat out a double play ball to put runners at the corners. Austin Riley then hit a home run all the way to Alabama to put the Braves up for good just like that. Dominic Smith lined out to center to end the inning with the Braves up 3-0.
Ceddanne Rafaela lined out to right to start the top of the second and Marcelo Mayer struck out swinging. Andruw Monasterio popped up to second to end the inning. Jorge Mateo doubled to left to start the bottom of the second and Mike Yastrzemski singled in the hole at short. Jose Azocar walked to load the bases and Baldwin walked to score Mateo. Albies popped up to left but Olson grounded out to first to score Yaz. Harris grounded out to second to end the inning with the Braves up 5-0.
Braves pour it on
Azocar made a great diving catch to rob Carlos Narvaez of a hit to start the top of the third and Nick Sogard struck out swinging. Duran doubled to left but Gasper flied out to left to end the inning. Riley lined out to center to start the bottom of the third and Smith grounded out to second. Mateo grounded out to third to end the inning.
Abreu popped up to short to start the top of the fourth but Contreras doubled to left. Rafaela walked but Mayer popped up to third. Monasterio grounded out to short to end the inning. The hits kept coming in the bottom of the fourth as Yastrzemski hit a home run all the way to Florida to start. Azocar caught Sogard asleep with a bunt single but Baldwin flied out to left. Albies flied out to the left field wall to move Azocar to second but Olson grounded out to second to end the inning with the Braves up 6-0.
Narvaez got a base hit to center to start the top of the fifth but Sogard lined out to second. Duran struck out swinging and Gasper flied out to right to end the inning. The Braves finished off Bello in the bottom of the fifth as Harris flied out to left to start. Riley doubled to left and Smith singled to center to score him to increase the lead. A wild pitch moved Smith to second but Mateo watched strike three go by. Yastrzemski flied out to right to end the inning with the Braves up 7-0. That was it for Bello who got torched for 7 runs off 8 hits and 3 walks in just 5 innings.

Abreu lined out to right to start the top of the sixth and Contreras did the same. Rafaela beat out a roller to third but Mayer flied out to left to end the inning. After a rain delay, Isiah Kiner-Falefa took over for Contreras, Connor Wong came in for Narvaez and Ryan Watson came in to pitch the bottom of the sixth. Azocar struck out swinging but Baldwin walked. Both Albies and Olson struck out swinging to end the inning.
Reynaldo Lopez came in to pitch the top of the seventh and Monasterio got a base hit to left to start. Wong struck out swinging and Sogard forced Monasterio at second, followed by Duran grounding out to short to end the inning. Harris flied out to center to start the bottom of the seventh and Riley struck out swinging. Smith flied out to left to end the inning.
Gasper took strike three to start the top of the eighth and Abreu flied out to right. Kiner doubled to right but Rafaela flied out to left to end the inning. The Braves struck again in the bottom of the eighth as Mateo walked to start. Yaz walked as well and Azocar forced Yaz at second. Baldwin hit a sac fly to center to score Mateo but Albies flied out to center to end the inning with the Braves ahead 8-0.
Tyler Kinley came in to pitch the top of the ninth and Mayer popped up to third to start. Monasterio popped up to first but Wong got a base hit to right. Sogard doubled to right to score Wing but Duran struck out swinging to end the game. The Braves had won it 8-1.
Jackass of The Night is Brayan Bello. He got shelled for 7 runs in 5 innings off 8 hits and 3 walks.
The Good:
Jarren Duran was 2 for 5.

The Ugly:
Andruw Monasterio was just 1 for 4.
Nick Sogard was just 1 for 4 but drove in a run.
Ryan Watson allowed a run in 3 innings of work.
Final Thoughts:
What more needs to be said other than Bello is mentally broken? Theres nothing wrong with him physically as he pitched well piggybacking in his last start. Its a clear mental issue he needs to spend time on a psychiayrist's couch or in Worcester figuring out. The Sox actually outhit the Braves 9 to 8 but went 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position and 9 men left on base. Even if they drove runs in, Bello wasn't going to give them a chance to win. If Garrett Crochet wasn't already gone, Bello would be gone by now. We'll see what happens here on in but it doesn't look good. This year is a disaster and we're not even out of May yet. The loss dropped the Sox to 19-27, good for last place in the AL East. The Sox now travel to Kansas City for a three game set with the Royals beginning tomorrow night. Sonny Gray (4-1) takes on Seth Lugo of the Royals. The game begins at 7:10 PM eastern time at Kauffman Stadium.
