Final Thoughts:
Nice to turn the tables on the Angels after back to back agonizing defeats in the ninth. This time the Sox delivered the knockout blow and it shows that it can be done. Losing 2 out of 3 to the Angels hurts but winning the third game at least ends the series on a high note. Fans are calling Rafaela the heir apparent to Devers and he had a touch of the magic by hitting that home run today. As a whole this was one of the best wins of the season after going down 4-0 and 7-5. Both times the Sox tied it the Sox coughed it up, yet they still fought to win the game. They could have easily folded early but they refused to give up. Hopefully Giolito isn't hurt and this was a one time stinker and the same goes for Bernardino. The only way the Sox can go on a run is if the pitching holds up and today it didn't. Thank goodness the offense woke up today and they definitely deserved the win. The loss improved the Sox to 30-34, 9 games behind the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East. After an off-day tomorrow the Sox run a gauntlet of 9 straight games against the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays. This Friday night Walker Buehler (4-3) goes for the Sox against Will Warren of New York. The game begins at 7:05 PM at Yankee Stadium.
